Codex49rosso is a new reality in Florence in the world of event organization, where heraldry and genealogy books, telling the story of each of us, from bookstores as well as from the stands of a theater, observe the event, reinforcing its identity.
The Codex49rosso logo was designed like the shield of a coat of arms with undefined contours, to signify that indissoluble bond between past and present, between tradition and actuality, between history and contemporaneity, where the heart is the space of interaction. So that the observer is swirling inside a book, the true protagonist of the place and the perfect vehicle for riding time.
Throughout its history, the Library has found its headquarters in various important historical places in Florence: Via Benedetto Castelli, Via Maggio, Via Torta, Via Santo Spirito, to land in a more modern place, an open space with glass blocks in industrial style in Via Palazzuolo 49r, chosen not only to include the study of professional research in a larger structure, but also to be able to share a particular world made up of manuscripts, family trees and coat of arms with those who belong to other worlds such as those of fashion, photography, modern art, sculpture, music, where books act as spectators and reflectors of different vibrations.
When we first entered the rooms on Via Palazzuolo, we immediately understood that this would be the perfect venue for Codex49rosso. There were many things to do, but the idea of creating a “magical” place for the realization of our project, a space to organize and host events was so big that we didn’t stop at nothing.
The historic bookcases, full of important volumes that collect the secular memories of thousands of families, would have created spaces and covered walls; stone details and art objects would have perfectly harmonized in the modern environment, creating a particular atmosphere.
Codex49rosso is the perfect place to host cultural events and more, to let an enlightened audience tell new stories, in the perfect setting in the heart of Florence.
At the end of the work, after the books arrived, the “lifeblood” of the space, the emotion was great and even greater was the satisfaction of seeing the books, the file cabinet and all the tools return to their place to finally enjoy the beautiful spaces of Codex49rosso.
